According to news reports this morning Pope Benedict will resign on the 28th February 2013 for health reasons!

This is fairly unusual for the papacy! What will be be afterwards, what will he be named, where will he live, what role would a resigned Pope play?

And more importantly who will succedd him!?!

Mike had you any idea that this could happen to this Pope? Resignation was something I never thought he would ever even consider!

I am shocked as well!!!! Benedict was supposed to be the last real pope before the schim happens in the vatican (after his assassination). Very strange, maybe he will still get assassinated within this year during the transition period?

Pope Benedict XVI to resign

I am not suprised that Pope Benedict XVI will cease to be the pope this year. I predicted he would die this year, but "death" through resignation, death of his office, will suffice. Better for him than a physical death.

Be forewarned: If you visit 2013 (Part One) at You must be logged in to see this link. you will see the whole picture laid out. My prediction was posted there on 11/9/10. It has appeared in short form on the Second Home page for two years, You must be logged in to see this link. , now in the section linking to 2013 (Part One):

Three Tribulation Popes Reign Successively in Same Year

It is very possible that 2013 will see the reigning pope die, his successor die, and yet another pope elected ... the one called "the great Pontiff" by Nostradamus and numerous other European prophets. It is also possible that of the two popes who die, the first will be assassinated or die of natural causes, and the second will be assassinated or perish as a casualty of war ...

If Pope Benedict XVI perseveres throughout 2012, he will be one of three popes to reign in 2013 and, obviously, the first of two popes to die in that same year. Then again, the first pope to die in 2013 may be his successor. It is difficult to say, but indications are very strong that 2013 will be a "triple pope" year. The question that must be asked is whether Pope Benedict XVI will be the first of the three popes of 2013 or will he succumb instead a year earlier in 2012.

That pretty much is the short version of the complete prediction you'll find on the 2013 (Part One) page at You must be logged in to see this link.

From that prediction, I quote here who I believe will be the next pope:

Elected: "Pol Mensolee"/"Paul the celibate"/"Sabinois" (Nostradamus).

The succeeding pope will likely be called Paul VII or else John Paul III. His nationality, if Nostradamus is correct, may be from northeast of Rome (Sabinois), thus Padua or Venice. This will most likely be the Cardinal of Venice, Angelo Scola.

It will be said of him upon his election that he is the Tribulation pope listed by Malachy as "Peter the Roman." But this will be wrong, as he shall have a successor who will be French and reign many years.

The reign of "Pol Mensolee" will be short, for war will come to Western Europe and he shall be forced to flee Rome. He will escape to France, only to be killed in Avignon during a military attack. His short reign will mirror that of John Paul I who was murdered by poison, it is alleged, in late September 1978.

In September 2013, "Pol Mensolee" will be killed-in-action in Avignon.

Or perhaps he will be murdered like Pope John Paul I.

After his death will come the prophesied French pontiff:

Elected: "The Pope from Ancient France" aka "The Cardinal of France" (Nostradamus)

Had Benedict XVI been assassinated in May/June 2009, I believe the cardinal of France, André Armand Vingt-Trois, pictured below, would have succeeded him as the next elected pope. Nostradamus tells us "cardinal of France" will appear shortly before World War III and that this man will be elected pope to become the "great Pontiff." Many candidates have been placed by interpreters of prophecy; however, I have been consistant about my belief that Vingt-Trois will be the French pontiff since at least 2004. Nostradamus even names him in one quatrain when London is under attack and a highly-placed high priestess, whore of Babylon-type figure, is killed along with many of her sect.

The vector in this prediction will either be June 2012 (if Benedict XVI dies of natural causes in April/May 2012) or October 2013 (after the death at Avignon by military hands of "Pol Mensolee"). The Vatican will be in exile at this time. When the war ends, he will return to Rome and will become the greatest pope of our age: "The great Pontiff" who shall rule alongside the "The Great Monarch."

However, according to John of Vitiguerro (13th Century) there may be no pope at all for 25 months, after which the French pope is elected:

The pope will change his residence and the Church will not be defended for twenty-five months or more because, during all that time there will be no Pope in Rome... After many tribulations, a Pope shall be elected out of those who survived the persecutions.

This would delay the "great Pontiff" coming to power until November 2015.

That's it in a nutshell. Three popes this year. Benedict has elected to "die" via resignation (due to health reasons as I have mentioned in my prediction). The next pope will not be so lucky. He will be murdered or else die as a casualty of World War III. The third pope will lead the world through World War III ... or not come to power until 25 months have passed (during which WW3 will be waged).

Oh, by the way Pacino, "the Great Schism" may take place between now (Benedict's resignation) and during the next pope's brief reign. It may be because of this schism Angelo Scola (if he is the one elected) is murdered, rather than to die during a military attack.

This may also explain the 25 months before a legitimate pope from France is elected as per the prophecy of John of Vitiguerro. If so, there may well be no pope during those 25 months or else AN ANTIPOPE will reign.

An even more thorough picture of events to come this year and beyond appears on my Pope Benedict XVI and the Rose Prophecy page at You must be logged in to see this link.

I will be updating this page ASAP.

This is an important event, and if all happens as predicted, the most contentious papal year since 1978 ... or worse.

I hope to see many posts to come on this thread.

hey mike great explicit explanation of the future of papacy! I believe an anti-pope will reign at some point during World War 3 for 25 months.

Scola definitely appears to be one of the favoured Papabilli at present. And the College of Cardinals does have 26 Italians out of 117, so that could be what tips it in his favour.

A year of three popes would certainly cause upheavel in the Church. I found it interesting that within the same 48 hour period of the Popes resignation we also saw North Korea conduct a nuclear test and in the US there was a State of the Union address. A very news heavy few days trying to keep track of everything.

I do wonder if Pope Benedict is also resigning due to not only health issues but these ongoing scandals about child abuse in the church.

Maybe during the three pope year we could be seeing a lot The Vatican secrets finally being exposed.

Also, North Korea did say they are planning on doing more missile tests soon.

It certainly is getting interesting. Did you say his personal aide George Ganswain may also be the camerlengo for the new pope, but also be retained as aide to the old pope! Thats very interesting indeed. And recently he was promoted to the rank of archbishop. That man is someone to watch in the future, I reckon he could be a cardinal within the next decade and then a prime candidate for the next papacy after this one if it lasts over a decade.

Well was that a trip or what?

Dec 21 after the Aliens beamed me up - I've been prepared aboard their craft for what is to come on this planet from this year to the end of 2016.

And now I am back to give the world and its inhabitants the heads up on whats going down homeys!

Anyway as far as Rat-zinger goes - this is what is important so listen up.

Pope Benedict resigned to avoid arrest, seizure of church wealth by Easter.

Diplomatic Note was issued to Vatican just prior to his resignation
New Pope and Catholic clergy face indictment and arrest as "Easter Reclamation" plan continues
A Global Media Release and Statement from The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State.

Brussels:

The historically unprecedented resignation of Joseph Ratzinger as Pope this week was compelled by an upcoming action by a European government to issue an arrest warrant against Ratzinger and a public lien against Vatican property and assets by Easter.

The ITCCS Central Office in Brussels is compelled by Pope Benedict's sudden abdication to disclose the following details:

1. On Friday, February 1, 2013, on the basis of evidence supplied by our affiliated Common Law Court of Justice (itccs.org), our Office concluded an agreement with representatives of a European nation and its courts to secure an arrest warrant against Joseph Ratzinger, aka Pope Benedict, for crimes against humanity and ordering a criminal conspiracy.

2. This arrest warrant was to be delivered to the office of the "Holy See" in Rome on Friday, February 15, 2013. It allowed the nation in question to detain Ratzinger as a suspect in a crime if he entered its sovereign territory.

3. A diplomatic note was issued by the said nation's government to the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, on Monday, February 4, 2013, informing Bertone of the impending arrest warrant and inviting his office to comply. No reply to this note was received from Cardinal Bertone or his office; but six days later, Pope Benedict resigned.

4. The agreement between our Tribunal and the said nation included a second provision to issue a commercial lien through that nation's courts against the property and wealth of the Roman Catholic church commencing on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. This lien was to be accompanied by a public and global "Easter Reclamation Campaign" whereby Catholic church property was to be occupied and claimed by citizens as public assets forfeited under international law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

5. It is the decision of our Tribunal and the said nation's government to proceed with the arrest of Joseph Ratzinger upon his vacating the office of the Roman Pontiff on a charge of crimes against humanity and criminal conspiracy.

6. It is our further decision to proceed as well with the indictment and arrest of Joseph Ratzinger's successor as Pope on the same charges; and to enforce the commercial lien and "Easter Reclamation Campaign" against the Roman Catholic church, as planned.

In closing, our Tribunal acknowledges that Pope Benedict's complicity in criminal activities of the Vatican Bank (IOR) was compelling his eventual dismissal by the highest officials of the Vatican. But according to our sources, Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone forced Joseph Ratzinger's resignation immediately, and in direct response to the diplomatic note concerning the arrest warrant that was issued to him by the said nation's government on February 4, 2013.

We call upon all citizens and governments to assist our efforts to legally and directly disestablish the Vatican, Inc. and arrest its chief officers and clergy who are complicit in crimes against humanity and the ongoing criminal conspiracy to aid and protect child torture and trafficking.

Further bulletins on the events of the Easter Reclamation Campaign will be issued by our Office this week.

by the Brussels Central Office

Well there you go...

Now you know whats in back of all these political maneuverings.

You can thank me later, I have much more to tell yet.

So today is Benedicts last day as Pope, later he will be Roman Pontiff Emeritus and still retain the title His Holiness.

So technically there will be two popes again just like the great medieval schism. Interesting times indeed!

Now the race for the papal throne begins, watch this space closely. I bet it will not be a quick 2 day conclave like last time!

From Rome to Africa: Meet the 20 men who could be pope

I figure I would post this since it gives a list of men as the potential pope and possibility the three tribulation popes.

It would be interested if The Vatican does pick a pope outside of Europe.

If they go for a pope outside of Europe I reckon either Canadian Marc Ouellette or Brazillian Odelo Scherrer would be the most likely options.

If Cardinal Tagle were just a few years older I think he would be an ideal pope, but at 55 he is just too young at present.

If a european gets it, it will be Angelo Scola and he'll probably strip the Curia out, so I bet they'll be trying to actively block him.

He should be the last pope to reign during World War 3 and when the 2 suns collide in November 2013. The only reason they didn't call him Peter is bcse they wanted to "break" the Mallacy cycle apparently. However, I really doubt that this will help.

Our Local newspaper carries this interesting article.

Ancient prophecies point to Pope Francis being the last

Do the words of Nostradamus' prophetic quatrains predict Pope Francis to be the final pope, the leader of the Catholc Church during the end times? Source: News Limited

WHEN the great 16th Century prophet Nostradamus stared into the future, he described the fate of the final pope with eerie detail. And the first sign will soon be in our skies.

The 266th pope now sits on the Throne of St Peter. According to the pen of several prophets, he will be the last.

One prophet, a Saint of the Catholic Church, counted down the popes until the end of the world. After Pope Francis there are no more on that list.

Nostradamus himself foresaw the end of a pope and the Church itself at a time when a great comet was to fill our skies. Comet Ison, said to be one of the brightest for centuries, will pass by later this year.

Their ancient words have set speculation ablaze on internet forums and in social media debates.

Anything mentioning Nostradamus is bound to fire up imaginations.

From his smoke-filled room in 16th century Renaissance France, the prophet wrote one of his characteristically tantalising four-line prophetic "quatrains":

Quatrain II.46

"The great star for seven days shall burn

So nakedly clear like two suns appearing

The large dog all night howling

While the great Pontiff shall change his territory."

Astronomers have announced that Comet Ison, which will pass later this year, could end up being brighter than the moon - if it survives its encounter with the sun.

This has been seized upon as evidence that Nostradamus's words are about to come to pass.

Another of Nostradamus's writings has also been associated with the end of the Catholic Church:

Quatrain VI.6:

There will appear towards the North

Not far from Cancer the bearded star:

Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,

The great one of Rome will die, the night over.

Comets have long been regarded as messengers of portentous events. Nostradamas refers to a comet "as bright as the sun" during the reign of the last pope. Astronomers say Comet Ison, due later this year, may be "as bright as the moon". Source: News Limited

Again a portentous comet is mentioned in association with a fateful event involving "the great one of Rome", a phrase he repeatedly used to refer to the Catholic Church.

As with all of Nostradamus' prophecies, these quatrains have been applied to various events over the centuries - most recently Pope John Paul II.

However, in this case, Nostradamus was not the only one to foretell the fate of the Catholic Church's final leader.

It is the writings of Saint Malachy, an archbishop of the 1100s, which definitively states this will be the pope of the end times.

A Benedictine monk claimed to have discovered in 1595 a collection of the Saint's papers where he had purportedly secretly written down 112 brief but vague prophecies. Each is associated with the reign of an individual pope.

The last phrase applies to Pope Francis:

Verse 112:

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End."

A Benedictine monk claimed to have found prophecies written down by Saint Malachy in the 1150s. One points to this pope as being the head of the Catholic Church during the 'end times'. Source: News Limited

Such vague words are widely open to interpretation and will no doubt continue to generate speculation - even if another pope is elected.

And if Nostradamus and Saint Malachy are proven wrong, one can always fall back on prophecies from the likes of Sir Isaac Newton who predicts - based on his biblical calculations - that the world will end in 2060.

Make of it what you will - at least it might generate some interest in ol Nosty again for Mikes page hits maybe?

An interesting choice of name as Francis.

St. Francis despised bureacracy and wealth, preferred to preach to the poor eschewing wealth and comfort.

Pope Francis is a jesuit who also eschews the trappings of wealth and despises governance and bureacracy.

Somehow I do not think the Curia or the Vatican Bank will like him at all. I wouldnt be surprised at all if he dies mysteriously in the next few months and we have another year of the 3 popes, 35 years since the last one which would match up with Mikes base 7 predictions.

I think Benedict discovered something rotten in the Vatileaks report which he has locked away in the safe of the papal apartments. He resigned to effectively remove the heads of all the curial departments who must stand down only when a pope resigns or dies. The new pope can then pick new successors as he choses. I think this was Benedicts way of actually trying to get rid of the corruption in the Vatican and this was his only way for doing it. Interesting that before Francis came to the balcony last night it was announced that the delay was caused by him phoning Benedict for 20 minutes after praying in the Pauline Chapel.

The plots thickens methinks.

I think Francis will do his best to cleanse the Vatican but it will be his undoing.

This was to go up last night, but had some problems blocking me from doing it.

an excerpt from my page

Pope Francis and the Rose Prophecy

located at
You must be logged in to see this link.

Right now many are focusing on the fact that Pope Francis, formerly Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, is the first pontiff to be elected from Latin America ... from the nation of Argentina.

However, the name tells us much more. I stated on this page that the next pope would most likely be the one Nostradamus called "The Sabine" in the following quatrain (and thus an Italian):

Nostradamus, Quatrain 5.46 ~

Par chapeaux rouges querelles & nouveaux schismes,
Quand on aura esleu le Sabinois:
On produira contre lui grans sophismes,
Et sera Rome lesse par Albanois.

Quarrels with red hats and new schisms
When will have been elected the Sabine:
Against him will be produced great sophistry,
And Rome will be injured by Scotland or Albania.

Although born a native of Argentina, the father of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was an Italian immigrant. Thus, Bergoglio is an Italian by birth. Also, choosing the name of Francis, shared by one of Italy's greatest patron saints (St. Francis of Assisi) strongly ties the new pope to Italy in a way no preceding Italian pope has ever aspired to do.

St. Francis was also, and perhaps even more powerfully, linked to that province of Rome settled by the ancient Sabines: the province of Sabina and the beautiful Sabine Hills.

Sabina, the region in the Sabine Hills of Latium named for the Sabines, is the ancient territory that today is still identified mainly with the North-Eastern Province of Rome and the Province of Rieti, Lazio ...

St. Francis of Assisi was attracted by the Sabina region above all other parts of Italy.

The Sabine hills saw the first Franciscan preaching and the religious prayer that Francis addressed to God from the wildest and most inaccessible natural surroundings.

Following in the footsteps of St. Francis through the “Valle Santa” (Sacred Valley), visitors will be amazed by nature and mysticism. The area still preserves four sanctuaries which are a widespread evidence of the presence of the Saint during the early part of his life. Francis, during his long stay in Sabina left important traces which legend has tended to amplify.

By identifying himself with St. Francis of Assisi, the new pope has also linked his identitiy to the Sabine pope of Nostradamus' Quatrain 5.46. He is the Sabine.

When I saw the mild, benevolent expression on the bespectacled face of Francis, I immediately recalled another pope who looked much like him: the ill-fated Pope John Paul I, who died mysteriously 33 days after being installed, officially of natural causes. However, it has been alleged by many that he had actually been murdered by poison. John Paul I was the last pope to inaugurate a name never before used (John Paul); now Pope Francis has followed suit.

As I predicted on what is now page 2013 (Part One) back on November 9, 2010, I believe this will be a "Triple Pope Year" ... a year when the first pope, the reigning pope, dies of natural causes (or in this case, resigns); the second pope, the succeeding pope, is elected, reigns a short time, and is then murdered just prior to or during a Great Schism, possibly assassinated while abroad; and the third pope is elected in the autumn who will have to flee from Rome, reigning in exile for 25 months before returning to a Rome and Vatican in ruins from a coming great global war.

Seeing the spectre of Pope John Paul I in the face of Pope Francis is not at all reassuring if I am correct about this being a Triple Pope Year. Like Francis, John Paul I too presented as a humble shepherd and, as Nostradamus warned, died through "too much goodness."

How long may Pope Francis reign if he is "the Sabine" and the second of three?

Nostradamus continues the prophecy:

Nostradamus, Quatrain 8.93 ~

Sept mois sans plus obtiendra prelature,
par son deces grand schisme sera naistre:
Sept mois tiendra un autre la preture,
pres de Venise paix union renaistre.

Seven months, no more, will he obtain the papacy,
By his death a great schism will arise:
Held seven months another acts as prelate,
Near Venice, peace and union are reborn.

Because Cardinal Bergoglio is of Italian descent and has identified himself with Italy's Patron saint, Francis of Assisi, it is possible there will be those who will say he is Malachy's final pope "Petrus Romanus" ("Peter of Rome"). I say no. Further down on this page I discuss how Malachy's list was incorrectly applied to nine antipopes, and therefore Benedict XVI was actually "Lumen in Cćlo" (and provide examples of the natural phenonema that support this claim).

Thus, Pope Francis may have the decidedly apocalyptic motto of "Ignis Ardens" ("Burning Fire").

As to Quatrain 8.93 above, Nostradamus, cryptic as always, makes it difficult to know how long the other man will reign who "acts as prelate" after the death of "The Sabine." Indeed, he sounds more like an antipope than a pope, this other man. Some commentators translate line 3 as "For seven months more another acts as prelate"; but that is not correct. The prophet is merely repeating that after "The Sabine" dies (who has reigned for seven months), another will "act" as prelate. How long we do not know, but not likely for very long. Again, using the word "act" suggests an antipope or some other type of pontifical office that will be newly created. It may even be that Benedict pontiff emeritus will be called out of retirement to act as pope. The timing of this next pope would be October 2013. To this person may be attributed the motto "Religio depopulata" ("Religion Depopulated" or "Religion Laid Waste") ... indicating either a great loss of human life worldwide from various causes and/or mass execution and sacrificing of Christians.

It is interesting to note that in November 2013, Comet ISON arrives: a "great star" astronomers are promising will be the largest and brightest comet in all recorded astronomic history (the last 2,500 years). It will be viewable every night ... and even in the day ... in the northern hemisphere until February 2014. This may be the "great star" prophesied by Nostradamus that will force the Pope to flee the Vatican, only to be killed while in exile in southern France.

According to John of Vitiguerro (13th Century) there will be no pope at all for 25 months, after which a French pope is elected:

The pope will change his residence and the Church will not be defended for twenty-five months or more because, during all that time there will be no Pope in Rome... After many tribulations, a Pope shall be elected out of those who survived the persecutions.

This would delay the "great Pontiff" coming to power until November 2015. His motto would be "Fides intrepida" ("Intrepid Faith"). Only then "near Venice, (will) peace and union (be) reborn."

In my next update, I will begin to tie up the loose ends on this page and discuss the new pope Francis and what may lie in store for him and the Church schismatic as he will have the legend "Ignis Ardens" ("Burning Fire").
