Does anyone have any good updates or info on where the US is in regards to the expected attack/war on Iran? Not much being reported in the western media of late, so hopefully other members have better sources for updates.
Mike - do u think that Sept/Oct/Nov 2008 is still a strong vector for this war?

I was on here last night and starting a reply ... then something occurred to me and thought I'd better think that through first.
Anyway, the base 7 strategy for a major Middle East war beginning in September or October of 2008 is the following: the 1973 Yom Kippur War or 10-day Arab-Israeli war that almost pulled in the Soviet Union and Nato 35 (5 x 7) years ago; the eight-year Iran-Iraq War that began on this day, September 22, 1980, also an election year, one that saw an elderly leader (Ronald Reagan) elected, 28 (4 x 7) years ago (this might tend to favour the McCain-Palin ticket); US naval intervention in the Iran-Iraq War, in its final year, protecting ships navigating in the Persian Gulf from Iranian naval vessels and gunboats in September 1987, 21 (3 x 7) years ago (there were a number of naval skirmishes between Iran and the US between then and July 1988); a second and failed attempt by Saddam Hussein to use Iraqi forces to invade and conquer Kuwait in September 1994, stalled and reversed when President Bill Clinton quickly began mobilising troops and sending warships to the Persian Gulf 14 (2 x 7) years ago; and lastly the US invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001 following the 911 attacks the month prior 7 (1 x 7) years ago.
Seems since 1973 there has been a major Arab-Israeli war, Muslim vs Muslim war, or US-led war or military intervention in the region every seven years without fail. The weakest of these events would have been the US preventing an invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in 1994. A major Arab-Israeli War is long overdue and the pieces seem to be being put into place with Syria and Iran being armed for war, partly with Russia's support, and ominous threats by Israel to launch air strikes against Iran's nuclear sites and preparation for attacks in the northern front by Lebanon and Syria. The last I knew also the US still has a large naval armada in place in the Persian Gulf and has recently conducted maneuvers there and Iran is soon to begin war games as well. Sabre-rattling and retractions from the US regarding war with Iran continuing every several days to a week. Also there have been many reports that Georgia was to be used as an air base against Iran by the US and Israel, possibly prompting Russia to invade South Ossetia.
The other vector for an Arab-Israeli War is April-June 2009. April 1967 (what will be 42, 6 x 7, years ago next year) saw the beginning of air skirmishes and border incursions between Israel and Syria. Full-blown war broke out in June 1967. Nothing much happened 7 years later in 1974 concerning Israel, however one member of the Levant Middle East, Turkey, went to war with Greece over Cyprus. Seven years later, in June 1981, Israel bombed a nuclear reactor in Iraq, setting Saddam's WMD program back at least ten years. Then Israel was applauded. Today (or should I say in June 2009?) an action like that against Iran would likely trigger a major regional Mideast war. At the time Israel attacked Iraq, Libya threatened US ships in the Mediterranean and created a "line of death," marking its territorial waters and air space. The attacks on US ships provoked several dogfights between Libyan and US fighter jets. Seven years later, in June 1988, the USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian airbus, effectively ending the Iran-Iraq War with a United Nations sponsored ceasefire in August 1988.
The chronicle of Middle East warfare on the 1967-2009 timeline pauses with 1988 and shifts to the Balkans and Bosnia and another important ceasefire in 1995 following Nato air strikes on Serbian positions in August and September. In March 2002 during Passover, Israel is attacked by Palestinian terrorists big time via the West Bank. The Passover Massacre in Tel Aviv gives Israel the pretext to do something it had never done: launch an actual military war, complete with air strikes from fighter jets, against a Palestinian territory. Israel had always used police and ground military to quell Palestinian unrest prior to this; but this time it was open warfare. Within a week the war spread to Lebanon due to Hezbollah attacks using Katushya rockets on the northern towns. This war on two fronts lasted throughout April 2002. It also came very close to involving Syria directly (four years later a repeat performance of this war would occur from late June 2006 to early August 1996 only many many times worse).
Meantime, in 2002, the US and the UK gear up for an invasion of Iraq but Germany, France, and Russia become the voice of global public opinion against such a military adventure, effectively postponing what would have occurred in either February 2002 or August 2002 until March 2003. I recall this well as I had predicted on my site that Iraq would be invaded in February or August 2002 sometime before and this postponement "cocked things up" for the integrity of the base 7 system, you might say, causing my enemies no small degree of celebration (that is until the US finally invaded seven months late in March 2003).
So, we can see from the 1973-2008 timeline and the 1967-2009 timeline that we are not only overdue for a MAJOR Arab-Israeli War involving Syria by April-June 2009, but also for one or more Arab vs Arab and Muslim vs Muslim wars and a US attack against Iran in September/October 2008. As we know from experience with base 7, the month vectors are not always exactly correct, but reasonably ballpark.
Now, here is what I am concerned about. We in the West have been prepped for a potential war with Iran practically since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, but especially since Bush listed Iran in his 'axis of evil' speech in January 2002 and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took power in 2005. We have been so blindsided by the likelihood of war with Iran, not to mention two Israeli conflicts with Lebanon and a few strikes in Syria, for the last six years that it has entered every reasonable calculation for what the future may bring.
Now, suddenly, it appears that the US is attempting to shift attention away from Iran and towards Afghanistan (as in 2001) and Pakistan. A war between these two would be similar to the Iran-Iraq War in scope, only with US intervention already in play. Bush could decide to leave the issue of Iran to the new occupants of the White House after they are inaugurated in January 2009. McCain may be pragmatic enough to pursue the 'war on terror' in Afghanistan and Pakistan, leaving Iran until 2010 or even 2011. That leaves Israel and whether it attacks Iranian nuclear sites in 2009 or is forced into a war in the north against Lebanon and Syria.
If Afghanistan/Pakistan end up being the 'big item,' and not Israel and Syria/Lebanon; Iraq, Iran and Turkey; Iran and the US, etc., many important predictions I made for 2009 (both sets of 2009 pages, one if there is a UN-brokered ceasefire and one if there is not a ceasefire) will not happen, 2009 will become another dull dragging year like 2002, and a weaker vector for a Middle East war will not begin until March or June 2010 (March 2003, US invades Iraq; June 1982, Israel invades Lebanon and US intervenes on the side of the pro-government Christian Phalangists and Israel). It will make all my war predictions a year late and destroy all hope for a UN-brokered ceasefire and a comprehensive Middle East peace. A far different series of events will occur than I have posted in either set of my 2009 pages, and either set of 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 pages yet to be posted, leaving us in another and bigger quagmire than Iraq ever was and continuing until World War III finally breaks out in Europe in August 2012 or grinding on as a true Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia in the Middle East until 2016 or, even worse, 2018, with major flare-ups in the region every 3 to 4 years thereafter.
The one good thing I will say about this variation of the third path: it *may* circumvent World War III completely and buy us all another 30 years (or 28 years if you count Apophis striking the earth in 2036). At the same time the war profiteers and the big oil companies who are helping to call the shots alongside the NWO's agenda will continue to profit big time for another ten years before breaking and planning out the next 18 years after that. I had hoped a ceasefire would be ushered in 2009 after the world is brought to the brink of global war and, as a result, there would be 30 YEARS OF PEACE. Leave it to Washington to blindside us for six years and then screw everything up at the last minute.

Whenever Israel gets thrown into the mix I never know what to think or theorise because of the unpredictability. I follow the news and global affairs avidly yet I have never heard of their new female prime minister!

Tzipi Livni is not prime minister yet. She has won the primary, but the general election has not happened yet.
Still, I think she will win.
Ever since I first read about her I figured she was the "daughter" Nostradamus predicted would be leading Israel when its air forces are defeated during the upcoming war and northern Israel is largely destroyed and the rest conquered and occupied by a new Iraqi leader working closely with Iran:

India is always a difficult one to figure out when it comes to World War III. For one thing the historic animosity between Pakistan and India and the Muslims vs the Hindus in Kashmir and India itself could easily lead to a nuclear war, as it almost did in 1971 and 1999 and again in 2002-03, which would knock both countries out of the action before World War III even began.
The destiny of India in prophecy is truly in the shadows. There have been Indian interpreters of Nostradamus who have attempted to characterise "the great leader of Asia" in one of the quatrains as being from India, but the other interpretations they make just do not work, often citing verses where the leader is clearly "Persian" (Iranian) or "Arab." All Nostradamus ever reveals about India in terms of war is that the final battle of World war III (or else a post-war operation) occurs near the Ganges River. The king of Europe is victorious.
The Hopi Indians declare the following:
"The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle people in other lands -- those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as the white man has made in the deserts not far from here. Those who stay and live in the places of the Hopi shall be safe. Then there will be much to rebuild ... "
"Those who possessed the first light of wisdom" must obviously include India, Tibet and China. But why there is war in India is not clear. China is allied with Pakistan and the US allied with India, so perhaps Russia, China, and the US get caught up in a war between India and Pakistan over Kashmir???? Or will Al Qaeda defeat the Pakistani military and take over the country, attempt to liberate Kashmir (Bin Laden has spoken of this) and start a nuclear war with India????
And also, from the Hopi Indians again:
"World War III will be started by those peoples who first revealed the light (of divine wisdom) in the other old countries. The United States will be destroyed, land and people, by atomic bombs and radioactivity. Only the Hopis and their homeland will be preserved as an oasis to which refugees will flee ... The war will be a spiritual conflict with material matters. Material matters will be destroyed by spiritual beings who will remain to create one world and one nation under one power, that of the Creator."
This does not look good for the US at all! The nuclear attack will probably come from China, Korea, and Russia, but the war that will involve India and the "other old countries" will stretch to Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Greece, the Balkans, and finally Europe itself. At that time the United States stands up for the final time and is soon afterwards destroyed.
As you can see, looking at this latter Hopi prophecy, Mankind had ruled the world badly. We are the custodians of this planet but have become more like greedy and lazy tenants. The rent is overdue, we have not made repairs and soon it shall be time for our landlords to evict us: eviction by an impersonal and efficient means of wholesale extermination. This is the judgment of the "sky gods" or "spiritual beings" the Hopi Indians speak of in their prophecy.
According to the Swedish prophet Anton Johansson (1858-1909), India will become involved in a war with China and then be conquered and occupied. 17 million people will be killed during this conflict. A short time after Islamic revolutionaries (Al Qaeda?) will instigate unrest and war in India and Egypt to facilitate their own occupation of both India and Europe. This will occur BEFORE Russia invades the Balkans and then Europe at the height of World War III. There will also be a plague that kills off 25 million people worldwide during this period.
I have calculated that this pandemic will begin in September 2009.
Using the base 7 system there are two likely vectors for World War III. We are currently on a path that should bring about WW3 in the Middle East extending to Central and Southern Asia at any time, as early as this month or as late as April 2009. This war will spill over into Europe around August 2009 at which time Russia invades, triggering World war III against Europe and the United States.
However, if a ceasefire is declared by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon in August 2009, then the trend towards total world war will end and a short peace ensue. Unfortunately, between June and August 2011 Iran and Russia will violate the ceasefire and commence a huge blockade of the Persian Gulf. The crisis will fester until January 2012 at which time World War III in the Middle East resumes, ending largely around June-August 2012 at which time Russia and Iran invade Europe (World War III in Europe).
Who is elected president in the United States and who will succeed the president should he die in office will make all the difference in the world which path we go down. If the right decisions are made, at the price of self sacrifice, no violation of the ceasefire will occur and World War III will be postponed until 2038.
Thus we stand at the threshold of what the Hopi call the "Jagged Path":
"The present world is separated into two paths. The lower path is followed by the One-Hearted people, and leads into a Paradise on Earth. The upper path is that of the Two-Hearted people and leads to self-destruction (in either 2009 or 2012). It is the path of technology without spirituality. Three world-shaking events are depicted by two circles and an half-circle. The last circle is an event known as the "mystery egg" or Day of Purification (Planet X?), the severity of which will depend on how many spiritual people are working toward peace when it occurs.
The one-hearted people will try to lead the two-hearted people (shown as a headless people) back to the eternal path (lower path). If the two-hearted people persist in living in ignorance, it will lead to chaos and self-destruction (jagged path).
The two symbols beneath the lower path represent the two helpers of Elder Brother. The solar symbol and swastika represent his masculine helper, and a red cross with lines in between (representing female life blood) represents his feminine helper.
Elder Brother and his helpers will arrive to help the Hopi and others who stay close to traditional ways. If they come from the west, the battle will be terrible -- the sky will turn red and the earth will shake for days. This time is known as the Day of Purification ... when Purification Day nears, we will see a halo of mist around the heavenly bodies and the sun ..."
Note too that Nostradamus warns that the world will be led astray towards peril and destruction by "headless idiots" ("the two-hearted people" are shown as "headless" in the Hopi Rock illustration of the jagged path prophecy). Too often this is confused with the French revolutionaries and the expedient method of mass execution they created via the Madame Guillotine.
Another source besides the Hopi Indians, Anton, and the little that Nostradamus tells us concerning India being involved in a future war is Islamic prophecy:
According to one Muslim hadeeth a US war, with Muslim support, will be waged against the regions of Korea and India some time prior to the coming to power of the Sufyaani (who will be a Western-backed Arab leader who shall be given Syria to rule, then the entire Arab Middle East).
Again, we can only speculate as to the reasons India will be at war.

Does anyone have an opinion on where Israel will stand if Obama gets elected??? Once Bush is out, will the US under Obama (if elected),not be so keen to be an ally of Israel? would it mean Israel going alone in attacking Iran?

I suspect that everyone in Washington, including the Obama camp, are watching the elections in Israel right now to see if the hawks get in under someone like Benjamin Netenyahu or if the first female in over 40 years, Tzipi Livni, is elected. I suspect whoever is in power in the US, be it Obama, will be more likely to maintain close ties with Israel if Livni is the next prime minister.
Having said that, I've a feeling now that Israel will go it alone with a surgical air strike against Iran's nuclear sites in the spring of next year, probably in June.
The only thing likely to change that would be a US-Iran war beginning between now and Inauguration Day in January 2009. Given the recent US attacks on Iran's chief ally Syria, one cannot dismiss out of hand a final military adventure in the Persian Gulf, this time with Iran, being triggered by the Bush/Cheney administraion before they step down in January 2009.
It will be recalled that Ronald Reagan took a parting shot at a Libyan chemical weapons facility the day before George Herbert Walker Bush was inaugurated in January 1989 and that Bush, in turn, launched an air strike against Baghdad one last time the day before Bill Clinton was inaugurated in January 1993 because Iraq was not complying with UN weapons inspections as agreed in 1991. Several hotel workers at the Al Rashid hotel were killed during that strike. So there is a history of this kind of thing for departing Republican regimes.

| Interesting! Mike could it be possible that between election day and inauguration day an incident could take place where GWB will somehoew use an international or domestic incident to retain power past inauguration day, effectively suspending democracy in the US? Is that even possible? |

| Sigh. I hardly know what to say here, but Conor, your fear is spoken aloud about every four to eight years in the U.S. by the opposing side of the political spectrum in America. They said it about Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton and now about Bush Jr. And, after every election, the result is the same, the president in question hands over the Administration to the next president in January. I seriously doubt that Mr. Bush Jr. will fail to cede his seat to the new President elect come January 2009. |

Paula is right .. save for one thing.
George W did pass a bill giving him sweeping dictatorial powers should he declare martial law or a national emergency. If that occurred, elections would be postponed to a later date, or the winner of the election would be forced to wait until the period of martial law or national emergency had ended before being inaugurated.
Could Bush Jr orchestrate such a scenario? Many people believe the answer to that is "yes."
